Project Details

Completed in 2008, the New Academic Building represents the culmination of the vision of Choctaw Nation to return the elementary education program to the Jones Academy campus, located in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. The 40,273 SF building contains 9 classrooms for Grades 1-6., as well as classrooms for Music, Arts & Crafts, Technology & Cultural Education and a new library/media center. The structure also features a large multi-purpose/recreation room, two above ground storm shelters and offices for Jones Academy Administration, Counseling Programs and Teacher Support space.

In 2012, the elementary school became a BIE (Bureau of Indian Education) elementary school under the authority of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. This state-of-the-art facility educates students in grades 1 through 6.
